sneak peek- karen & bill’s beautiful la jolla rooftop wedding

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Bill & Karen’s wedding at the great location of the La Jolla Cove Suites.

The rooftop ceremony was beautiful with a bright sunny sky, and a great view of the La Jolla Cove.

The wedding party was a beautiful bunch.

Bill and Karen looked HOT!!!!

As the sun was setting, and getting soft and warm, we grabbed these few shots of Karen with her parasol- just beautiful!

These little lookout gazebos on the Cove are so fun for photos.

Congrats Karen & Bill!!! More photos to come later.

portraits in a meadow. . .

Back in May, some friends and us went camping, and of course I had to do a little photos session with the beautiful scenery and our gorgeous friends- Rebecca & Austin.

marshall family- at ponto beach

Meet the Marshall Family.

This is the second time I’ve had the pleasure of photographing them, since I was lucky enough to be there for their little Makena’s first birthday last year.

I just love the playfulness of these two shots.

Here’s Makena with her favorite doll- I just love this shot.

I look forward to another session next year with the Marshalls!!

dimalanta family- at presidio park

I just LOVE this image- aren’t they adorable?

The whole gang.

It was great meeting you all- thanks for such a great shoot!

pretty funny comic

So, here’s a comic I’d like to share with y’all.

My hubby sent this to me knowing I’d get a kick out of it. See, whenever we’re at a concert, or for example, on the 4th of July watching fireworks, and I see people taking photos with their point and shoots and using the flash, I sigh, or make a comment, knowing they’re going to have a pretty photo of blackness.

Check it out at Real Life Comics. Tell me what you think.

a few more of the parents. . .

Here are a few more from a session I did with my parents a while back to celebrate their 35th anniversary.

Here’s my favorite from the day.

The light was just gorgeous.

more beauty from angela & dustin’s wedding

I just loved Angela’s dress, so simple and classic, but also modern.

Off to the church. . .

The inside of Our Lady of the Rosary has such intricate beautiful murals.

We created this photo to mimic a similar photo Angela has of her grandma and grandpa on their wedding day on the same church’s stairs.

This Firehouse Museum in Little Italy has got to be one of my new favorite places to photograph. The huge red doors are just so fun.

One of many cool ring shots I got that day.

Aaaaaaamazing Light!!!

The florals were gorgeous. I just love dahlias and peonies.

Angela was such a stunning bride.

A first for me. . . . during their first dance the guests threw coins out onto the dance floor for the kids to gather.

Just a great dancing shot.

The whole gang.

Congrats Angela & Dustin!!!!!!

The ceremony was under a gazebo in a pretty little sheltered garden.

Kim looked so beautiful-  I’m always a sucker for hair flowers.

They got personalized M&Ms and of course I had to photograph them in a Ring shot.

Just married!

Congrats Kim & Danny! More images to come later.

sneak peek- heidi & zach’s wedding in harry griffen park, la mesa

This past Thursday Heidi and Zach had a beautiful park ceremony.

That’s right, me Heidi, had a bride named Heidi. That’s a first for me.

I just love this image of Heidi, her mom, and her bridesmaids.

The first look- just look at how happy their faces are.

They’re SOOO cute together. I just love this image of Heidi, she has such amazing eyes.

Another gorgeous shot of Heidi, and her amazing eyes.

As the sun set we grabbed a few more gorgeous shots.

more of baby S. . .

I had the great pleasure of photographing Veronica and Anthony’s beautiful baby S this last month.

I don’t even need to say it, but I will: Isn’t she sooo adorable?

Baby feet are the cutest.

I love the expression she’s making, so funny.

Congrats again Veronica & Anthony on such a sweet adorable little baby girl.

sara & josh’s wedding in la jolla

Sara & Josh had a gorgeous beach ceremony in La Jolla Shores, followed by a fun reception at the Sheraton La Jolla.

Hair flowers are so pretty.

They had a nice typically sunny San Diego day.

So cute.

Sara was so ecstatic after their ceremony. She just kept giggling with glee throughout all the photos.

One of the bridesmaids made these feet jewels for them all to wear- so creative.

One of my many faves from this day. Once the sun started going down the light got so gorgeous.

Another fave of the day.

You just gotta love the light bursting out from between their kiss.

Another fave of the day. Just so romantic, so dreamy.

These next shots were Sara’s idea, and I LOVE them. Again, so dreamy and soft, and timeless.

The cupcakes were so cute. A friend of Sara’s made them all. They all had starfish on them and she laid out raw sugar underneath them to look like sand.

Having fun.

Thanks Sara & Josh for such a fun day. Congrats on your wonderful wedding!!!!

Linda Chiles - Wow!!! I love these shots! Can’t wait to see more, good job all!!!=0)

the san diego county fair is here.

my grandparents’ farm

So, a while back, about 7 years ago, I visited my grandparent’s farm (my mom’s parents) farm in Illinois and decided to document all the interesting textures. This was also back when I was still shooting film. All of these were taken with my good ol’ medium format Bronica SQ-Ai.

This one of the dust and dirt on the controls is my favorite- I just love the graphic quality of the image.

These images are a bit different than what I’m shooting now, but I still look back at them and a few of them are some of my favorites of all time.
